Knoll is a furniture manufacturer that embodies worldly known 20th century modern design. Knoll is so familiar with design that it is said that "Knoll’s history is the history of the modern design movement," and it has been pursuing and embodying it. Founded in New York in 1938 by German-born and son of furniture dealer Hans G. Knoll at the age of 24, Knoll developed through design philosophies and the interplay between Bauhaus as its father and Cranbrook as its mother as it was likened. This business model that Hans and his business partner and wife Florence Knoll have continued still lives on today. Their friendships led to groundbreaking collaborations with leading architects and designers at the time such as Mies van der Rohe, Eero Saarinen, and Harry Bertoia, which had a major impact on 20th century design.
At inter office, we propose a line of "Knoll Studio" collections that includes these previous works. Products that have been made through thorough research without any compromise are reputed as "works of art to be used" with beauty and comfort, and spread the world of modern furniture in every scene, including offices, public spaces, and homes.
