The “tette” facility is a multifunctional complex established as part of the reconstruction efforts after the Great East Japan Earthquake.
It encompasses a library, lifelong learning support, childcare assistance, citizen engagement support, museums, and more. The facility was constructed in the heart of the city, which had suffered significant damage due to the earthquake, with the aim of revitalizing the area and restoring vibrancy. Its primary objective is to encourage cross-generational and cross-disciplinary interactions among citizens, fostering creative reconstruction.

InterOffice was fully involved in the furniture selection process, collaborating closely with the design and concept of the architectural firm. Both city officials and citizens actively participated in choosing the furniture to be delivered for various activities within the facility.

In recognition of its outstanding design, the “tette” facility received several prestigious awards, including the 2019 Good Design Award (Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award – Good Design Gold Award), the Japan Sign Design Award Silver Award, and the Invitational Jury Special Award.
